The University of Houston Guy V. Lewis Development Facility Phase II project received the prestigious 2025 Gold Award in the Experiential & Immersive category, presented by the MUSE Creative Awards program. With more than 9,000 entries submitted from 22 countries, this recognition stands as a significant testament to the project’s impact and excellence.

The renovation reimagines the Guy V. Lewis Development Facility to align with the University of Houston athletic department’s evolving identity and aspirations. Focused on enhancing the men’s and women’s basketball team environments, the project delivered a complete transformation of the team level. Recruits are welcomed into a dynamic space where trophy and memorabilia displays in the coaching suites proudly showcase the program’s legacy. The design thoughtfully weaves together the rich culture of Houston basketball and the bold identity of the Air Jordan brand, creating a fully immersive and cohesive experience.

The primary goal was to create an environment that inspires current athletes and attracts future talent– while making a bold statement about the university’s commitment to excellence. That vision is brought to life through deliberate branding, elevated design, and a strong emphasis on equity, with equal amenities and facilities provided for both the men’s and women’s programs.
